First Stage Deployment Goal

File Server

1. Support Separate 3 Separate File Server OUs
   • Use ONE ACTIVE DIRECTORY DOMAIN
   • Chinese Wall Between Each OU
   • Scalable storage from 500MB to 4TB or greater per OU
   • Scalable users from 5 to 70 per OU
   • Max total storage for 3 File Server OUs is 6 TB
   • Prefer to use Windows Server 2008 if possible, otherwise 2003
2. Provide scalability roadmap to 200 or more OUs with 300 or more Logins per OU and unlimited TB or storage

Desktop Servers

1. Support up to 3 Separate Desktop Server OUs
   • Use ONE ACTIVE DIRECTORY DOMAIN (potentially same AD Domain as File Serveers)
   • Chinese Wall Between Each OU
   • Up to 20 Desktops Per OU
   • Support 25-30 BASIC Desktops Total
     • MS Office plus Outlook 2007, IE 7, FF, Adobe Acrobat Reader
2. Provide Leading Edge ONE CLICK support of PERSISTENT user profiles
   • login to our SEPARATELY CONTROLLED MS Exchange Server
   • Persistent Desktops
   • Persistent connection to File Server Folders
     • Unique User Folders
     • Shared Department Folders
3. Enable use of 3-5 "Golden Images"
   1. Basic Desktop (defined above)
   2. Additional Custom desktops with added applications and more RAM/Processor allocations
4. Provide scalability roadmap to 200 or more OUs with 300 or more Logins per OU

Hardware Requirements Goal: allow resources to be added and reallocated easily within our hardware “resource pool” for maximum scaleability.

Open Questions: 

1. How will users connect to file servers and desktops securley?  Citrix specific VPN?
2. How will Cross Active Directory logins be managed between External MS Exchange and Desktops
3. Active Directory design.  SureTech.com domain with each client as a organizational unit for each clinet? Seth to create AD visio diagram to bounce off of IPM or other partner consultant.
4. Single log-in.  A script that will automatically authenticate users to our other hosted solutions on different domains i.e. thoughtbus for Exchange
5. Disk space with DFS - if client needs more space - will DFS seamlessly expand current disk.  More Info.
6. How does anti-virussoftware work with provisioned desktops?
